IS THE CREATION OF THE WOMAN AN AFTERTHOUGHT? 2

387

…That would suggest that God was taken aback by the situation and decided to implement a solution as soon as possible. No! That was never the case.

God created both male and female. They were both his original intention. Notice that the woman was created out of the man.  After God created the woman and presented her to Adam, this was his reaction;

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

(Genesis 2:23)

Adam said, this is part of me. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. The woman was in Adam all this while, it was the separation that took place later in time. If the woman was in the man all this while, then the woman is the original creation of God just as the man.

It is same with the church. We were chosen in Christ even before the world began.

KJV Ephesians 1:4

according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

The church has always been in Christ. It is the manifestation of Christ that came at the set time of God. By the manifestation of Christ and his sacrifice, the church was born. The church being born later after Christ’s manifestation doesn’t make the church an afterthought.

KJV 2 Timothy 1:9-10

who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, *which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,  but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ*, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

His grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. So just as the woman was in the man before the forming of the woman, the church was in Christ before the resurrection of Christ.

The forming of the woman out of the man is very symbolic of what happened through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. The church was birthed from Christ. So Paul talking of the church says;

“for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” (Ephesians 5:30)

The same way the woman was taken out of the man, the church was taken out of Christ….

To be continued…
