“Such a refreshing time it was. I knew that something unexplainable has happened to Kay,” I said

For Joseph, we had to first let him know that God loved him in spite of his drinking habit. Again, we made him realize that he was worthy in the sight of God because he had become a new creature in Christ. At first, he was hesitant to accept the truth but with continuous explanations, he began to understand it.

“The way God sees is different from the way other people see, Laudes said as we spoke to him, people would see you based on how you look but God sees you based on who you are in the spirit. In the Spirit, Joseph is not a drunkard, he is a child of God that looks exactly like Christ.”

“Hahaha! That can’t be true. I’m nowhere near Christ,” Joseph said amid laughter.

“You can say that because of your actions. Your actions may not be anywhere close to Christ but your spirit being in just as Christ. Do you know why? It is because you are born of God. When you are born of God, you take on the nature and life of God.

That is why Colossians 3:4 says that Christ is your life. I John 4:17 says as Christ is, so are we. Who you are in the Spirit is far different from how you see yourself in the physical,” Laudes explained.

“Since nobody can see into the Spirit, how can I be sure that I am as Christ in my spirit?” Joseph asked.

“Joseph, you see, the Word of God shows us who we are in the spirit. It is true that we can’t see into the spirit with our physical eyes but we can know who we are in the spirit through the Word of God. The Word of God is the mirror of our spirits. When we look into it, we see the reflection of our spirit.

So when you read 2 Corinthians 5:17, he says you are a new creature. When you read 2 Corinthians 5:21, he says you are the righteousness of God. When you read John 1:12-13, he says if you have received Christ, then you are born of God. All these describe who you are in the Spirit. So when you realize this and begin to develop an awareness of it, you will find yourself walking in it effortlessly,” Pastor Emmanuel explained.

“Oh okay. This means that I have to stop seeing myself as a drunkard and see myself as a child of God and the righteousness of God in Christ. Hmm…Okay,” Joseph said in a pensive mood.

” Talking about righteousness, my question is, if we are really righteous as the bible says, then why do we still sin?”….
