We all wished we could figure it out.
After class, I went to see Pastor Abraham in his hostel so Bertha and Anita escorted me. When I got to Pastor Abraham’s hostel, they left and went back to our hostel.
I spent a while with Pastor Abraham before heading back to my hostel.
“Laudes at least you should learn from what happened to Araba,” I heard as I entered the room.
“What’s going on here?” I asked.
“It’s just this guy I’ve met. He seems like a really nice guy. He’s also a christian but Anita and Bertha are making it look like I’m making the biggest mistake of my life.” Laudes recounted.
“Okay, so he wants to date you?” I asked puzzled.
“Kind of, we are still talking,” Laudes said.
“Oh! So he’s the one who’s been taking all your time right?” I asked teasingly.
“Well, I kind of enjoy his company,” Laudes answered.
“You’ve changed totally since you met this guy. The way you seem crazy over him, be careful you don’t do something silly,” Bertha warned.
“Laudes, there’s something about him that I can’t place my finger on. Why does he only meet you at odd hours? Why haven’t you introduced him to us? You said he’s a Christian but we haven’t seen him at church before,” Anita said suspiciously.
“You girls are just making things up. I just want to give him a try,” Laudes said.
“A try? Is that what we are supposed to do? To give people a try? Laudes, I hope you know what you are doing,” I asked quite concerned.
“Yes Araba, I know what I’m doing?”
“Alrigh, if you say so,” Anita said.
We saw less and less of Laudes both in the room and in class. She sometimes came to class late and left before class closed.
It was Sunday morning and Laudes was nowhere to be found.
“So where could Laudes be on a Sunday morning?” I asked as we walked to church….
