“Amen, ” Joshua, Jennifer and Cyrus chorused

George: So am I saying you can sin all you want since God does not condemn you? God forbid! Sin is deadly and destructive so you shouldn’t decide to live in it.

George: But what I’m saying is, if you do wrong or have done something wrong in the past, God does not condemn you. And when you know that he doesn’t condemn you, you will get close to God and sin will loose its grips on you. Do you all get it to this point?

“Yes,” They chorused.

Monica was in a pensive mood. She was listening to every bit of the message as though her life depended on it (Her life actually depended on it)

George: Let’s look at some incidents in the Bible. One is the Woman caught in adultery.

John 8:3-5 reads,
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

George: The Pharisees caught a woman in adultery and dragged her to Jesus and quoted from the law. According to the law, she was to be stoned to death. She was to be condemned to death.

Leviticus 20:10 says
And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

George: So the pharisees were right that she should die. They used the law to condemn her, but watch what Jesus said, he said, anyone without sin should cast the first stone and none of them could, they all left.

Do you know why? It’s because none of them was righteous and the law condemns everyone because everyone is a sinner. So, that you haven’t been caught sinning doesn’t mean that you are better than the one who was caught.

George: Let’s hear what Jesus said afterwards.

John 8:10-11
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, NEITHER DO I CONDEMN THEE : GO , AND SIN NO MORE .

George: Jesus didn’t condemn her and by so doing, he gave her the strength not to sin anymore. Even if it were you, you wouldn’t think of continuing in adultery after such great salvation. Do you see the love of the father and how he longs to see you free from sin?

George: God has not sided with sin against you, so that he will condemn you. He already sided with you against sin by condemning sin in the body of Jesus. So today, God doesn’t count any sin against you. Like the woman caught in adultery, he says to you, I DO NOT CONDEMN YOU, GO AND SIN NO MORE.

George: Until, you are able to accept that he does not condemn you, you will still continue in the sin. Monica, God does not condemn you, he still loves you as before. Your change in behavior didn’t cause God to change his love for you. God is love so he can afford to love you always no matter what.

Monica: So are you saying, Jesus didn’t condemn the woman caught in adultery even though what she did was wrong?….
