Monica had gone to visit Harriet after the call. She went to encourage her and to convince that God could heal her.

“Monica, are you sure? Me, I don’t really believe in this God thing. I wish Kingsley was around to help me with some money.”

“God can heal you, just believe so. Okay, so would you rather die like this or try to see if God will heal you? Which is better?”

“Hmm, so when can I meet George for him to pray for me?”

“We will be meeting this Saturday at the complex in the middle of the neighborhood.”

“Then pass by and lets go together. After all, I don’t have any choice.”

Abigail had been discharged from the hospital. She couldn’t believe she was fine after such bleeding. She literally saw death staring at her face but here she was today, healthy and strong.

For the first time in a long time, she knelt down to thank God for saving her life. She promised God that she would refrain from all those habits. She will start going to church every Sunday, pray and read her bible daily.

“Lawyer, please do everything to help my son. He shot him in self-defense. Please do something, your payment isn’t a problem, ” Mr. Newman, Marvin’s father, pleaded with Barrister Alfred.

“The issue is quite dicey. Where did he get the gun from at that moment? Where were they going? What were they up to? I’m afraid, it’s more complicated than a mere self-defense. Do you know God?” Barrister Alfred asked.

“What has God got to do with this? I just need my son at home, that’s all,” Mr. Newman said.

“It’s not so easy as you put it. If you know God, then prayer will be needed as well to get your son home,” Barrister Alfred said.

Apparently, Marvin was scheduled to go to court. In the Police cells, he couldn’t but shed tears. All he could do was look up and whisper , “God, if you exist, then help me out of this mess and I promise I won’t be a bad boy again in my life.”

He couldn’t imagine serving in prison at such a young age. Already he had been bullied by some of the guys he met at the police cell. He knew if he was jailed, his life would be messed up. His parents, especially his mum, would never recover from it. He really needed a supernatural intervention.

On Saturday during the bible study, George exposed them to the truth that they had received a new nature in Christ, which is righteousness. He told them that they were blameless before God and God didn’t count their sins against them.
He quoted Col. 1:21-22 to them;

Colossians 1:21-22
This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

He also read to them Romans 3:22, Romans 5:17, 2 Cor 5:17, Gal 2:16 and other verses that highlighted this truth.

He made them understand that their righteous nature couldn’t be lost and that they are righteous at every moment no matter what they do. This is because this righteousness is a gift given to all who believe in Jesus Christ. He admonished them to accept the truth and continually declare to develop a consciousness of it.

He added that, such truths weren’t to set them free to sin but to set them free from sin.

After the study, they joined hands and prayed for the release of Marvin. George together with Cyrus and Ken had gone to his house to look for him and were told all that had happened. So they used the gathering to intercede for him. After the prayer, they praised God for answered prayer. George called out for those who wanted to receive Jesus and Harriet went forward after Monica encouraged her to do so…
